We had a wonderful few days there. We could not fault it at all . The service, cleanliness location, food and value for money was excellent.

          9.2

The room was excellent. Enormous bed and plenty of space. We particularly enjoyed having our own patio to sit out on in the sunshine. Spa facilities were acceptable. Breakfast was plentiful and there were alot of different options. Grounds were stunning. Excellent staff who helped us organised numerous events.

Not enough table space in the room. The partitions were only lattices so it was possible to see right into our neighbours' rooms, which is not ideal for a romantic stay... No pool nor jacuzzi at the spa was a disappointment. The breakfast was quite stodgy and the bioled eggs came to us uncooked.

The bed was large and comfortable and the spa treatment was the best the wife has had because just the staff evan made her fill relaxed

The bathroom was of poor quality . The room was so big it needed a sofa in there.

Welcoming staff, lovely location and fabulous food. We had a Garden Room which was in a new addition to the old house. It was spacious and extremely comfortable.

The dinner we had was great.

Poorly managed - has great potential but just doesn't deliver as staff are poorly trainged

meals were delicious, we had 2 nights of fantastic gourmet meals, and waiters were very attentive.

cleanliness was over all excellent but the dark coloured bathroom tiles showed up soapy streaky marks from previous guests showers

          Friendly staff and log fires

Chose the hotel for the spa and when ringing for treatment couldnt get booked in until May. Defeats the point of booking the hotel for a spa as my partner and I have our own businesses and are very stressed which is why we wanted a weekend away for relaxtion and spa treatments. The hotel didnt even have a pool or gym, nothing. The bar was too small and library not used, I would knock through to make a bigger bar and a very small library if required. Very disappointed in our stay and the food was very gourmet didnt like what was on the menu and it was very limited. I don't like wood pigeon etc.. and would have preferred to have something normal but it wasnt offered. No robes and slippers in the room, big box in the bathroom that you hit your head on. Room very basic and no sky. They got our breakfast wrong every morning and forgot to provide us with milk for our tea. The waiter in the dining area was very nice though. Dining room huge but not many guests, felt we had to whisper. Maybe the second dining room could have been the bar. They my get busier in the summer hence the room needed in the dining area but its not ideal in the winter. The spa had prioritsed external customers over the residents when I believe the residents should take priority.

the space in the hotel is brilliant...big room, big bathroom.. big grass area...

room is very very dusty.. room cleaning service is totally not helpful.staff are friendly but not feel warmth welcomed. the whole stay is not as i expected with the money that i paid.

The old manor house itself, lovely relaxed ambience and magnificent acreage of manicured gardens. Very nice restaurant in room with view over the grounds. Also the staff were always polite and helpful.

The spa/ beauty therapy area itself was not as 'special' as I expected in terms of atmosphere and the massage itself lacked a little eg left with oil all over face to deal with rather than therapist removing and the therapists did not look too professional in bare feet!

        • Older travelers

Having only booked standard accommodation I was very impressed with the room. It was very spacious and well furnished with a large and comfortable bed. The bathroom was also quite large and well designed with modern fittings. The outlook from the room was very nice with lawns and trees all around. There were large grounds for walking around and several pretty villages less than 30 minutes drive.

        • Group of friends
          7.8

The main hotel building itself was lovely and the staff were mostly friendly and helpful. The hotel rooms were quite a good size and the grounds surrounding the hotel were very nice. The breakfast staff were well organised during our stay and made sure we had everything we needed.

The rooms we stayed in were good but I would not call them luxury. We were in rooms that were in a separate building to the main house and I was glad I had got these rooms at an early booking rate. One of the rooms we stayed in did not have a kettle despite having all of the tea making facilities which was quite disappointing.

        • Couple
          9.2

Lovely location, great food, helpful staff

Wedding on Saturday which meant on the Sunday morning, there was not enough waitresses and our table was left with dirty tablecloth and bits on it from the last person. We paid for an "executive room" but was only a standard in my judgement against hotels I have paid the same price, so not good value for money.

Visited the local towns In Stow on the wold Bourton on the Water, Burford, plus others. We also enjoyed a meal in the restaurant which was a very good standard
